Streetwear Pink

After going to Milan for Fashion Week (see my recap here) I was so inspired by the street style I wanted to up my own. I impulsively bought an Off White industrial belt and never looked back. This is by far the best thing I have purchased in a long time. It makes a lot of my outfits more put together and gives them an edgier, more streetwear feel. I have been intrigued with this brand for a while now and am happy with my purchase. Would definitely recommend.

I styled this look two different ways; one with the blazer under the belt, and the other with the belt under the blazer. I have the matching pink pants to this blazer to form a full co-ord suit but wanted to make it a bit more funky so I added the red leopard pants instead. I threw on my favorite, all black, Fila Disruptor II’s and was ready to go.

Florence, Italy – Study Abroad : Week 1

Ciao!

I have made it to Florence and have already been here for a week already which is crazy! I have decided to make weekly posts including my photos from that time, outfit photos, stories, and just thoughts in general. I think that this is going to be the best way for me to blog and also enjoy this slow European lifestyle at the same time.

We had our school orientation for Accademia Italiana where we went over the basics, got our schedules, and toured the absolutely gorgeous school! It looks like I will be having class in an actual art museum; it’s truly insane.

A group of new friends and I decided to go out and discover the Florence bar and club scene and it was really fun to experience nightlife in a new country. We all walked home together around 3:00 A.M. and crossed the Ponte Vecchio and not a soul was there. It was so beautiful and calm and it hit me that this place will be my home for the next four months.

I figured I would throw in some photos of where I am living! I got so lucky with my living situation. I am rooming with 4 other girls who are all great and the building itself it gorgeous. The color scheme is black, white, and red and super modern;  my favorite.

On Saturday we tooled around the city, shopping, eating, and leading our own walking tour.

Being completely honest, it has been pretty difficult to adjust to this new lifestyle. My photos do look like I am having a blast but at times it can be lonely and that’s just the reality of moving to a new country alone and life in general. I have a feeling that once I get busy with school and find my way around town like a local, things will get better and I can’t wait to share next week’s adventure in photos!

Racing Stripes and Checker Print

Hello Everyone!

I feel like I haven’t made a blog post in a while but in all honesty I have been so crazy busy preparing to leave for Italy next week! Making sure I spend time with my friends and family before I leave has been a huge priority of mine and it’s always good to take some time for yourself. However, I am here with a few more blog posts to get out before I leave in a short few days!

Lately, I have literally been OBSESSED with everything checker printed. I see this pattern absolutely everywhere and hopped on board real fast. For this look, I was heavily inspired by race cars and races. This jumpsuit is from Nasty Gal and I feel like it looks so complete with the denim check jacket from the Wild Fable line at Target right now. I paired it with my favorite Dad sneakers (my babies, my Fila Disruptor II’s). This outfit is so fun and such a good, go-to.

Shoutout to Abby Liudahl, my photographer and blogger babe, for taking these amazing shots!

Feminine Rocker Tee

Happy Weekend! This type of outfit is a go to for me, especially this summer (it’s been grossly hot). I love pairing a feminine skirt with a graphic, or rocker tee to make the perfect outfit to go from day to night. I wear graphic tees like it’s my religion and I love pairing them with unexpected pieces. Also lately, red has been a favorite color pop of mine. I feel like it can make you stand out in the best way possible.

I got to shoot this look with fellow fashion and lifestyle blogger, Abby Liudahl. She is such a sweetheart and so talented, I can’t wait to collaborate with her again soon!

Pink Paisley Pants

Statement pants have been an obsession of mine probably since I bought my first pair of floral culottes from Zara around three years ago. A friend of mine was doing a closet clean out and I honestly could not understand why anyone would want to rid of these paisley kick-flare leg pants but I swiped them up in a heartbeat.

These funky pants can definitely be worn in a business setting with the paired blazer but, for keeping my style true to myself, I wanted to make them into a “professional going out piece.” I styled a super cropped top from Forever 21 revealing my waist and threw a white blazer over it to keep the look chic, and semi-appropriate.

I had a lot of fun shooting this look and want to wear it in real life once it’s not scorching hot in Kansas City. Great transition look from dinner to night on the town.

OOTD : 4/26/18 – Flame Denim – Madd Child Clothing

I usually keep my OOTD posts simple by only posting photos and links to the pieces of my outfit BUT I must make a quick comment on these jeans…

Maddie Koerner is a student at the University of Missouri and she reworks vintage clothing into something new! I bought these jeans from her that she hand painted and they are most definitely the coolest thing in my wardrobe. She is such a sweetheart and beyond talented! Check out her Instagram here!!

#KCFW F/W’19 Saturday Night Runway Show

The final night of the F/W’18 season of Kansas City Fashion Week was spectacular, as it always is. I am so happy to have completed my 11th season of KCFW and am pretty sad to say it will be my last; for a while anyways. I am moving to Italy for school and will be unable to attend next season but I think I left on a good note.

My Outfit

I always try to make my final night’s outfit the best out of them all. For this look, I am wearing a long red off the shoulder gown paired with a fur shawl; both by Lucia’s Sarto. I think that it’s important and shows support to wear a designer who is showing that evening. I wanted to keep the look elegant and clean so I slicked my hair back and paired it with simple, minimal gold hoops and that is all.

Designers

Lucia’s Sarto

Nataliya Meyer is an incredibly talented fashion designer with an eye for beautiful tailoring. She is the designer of the dress I wore this evening and is amazing at what she does. Her collection was gorgeous. It was so feminine and flowy with the most beautiful luxurious hues. Her gowns are always like something from a movie.

Ethel & Dean

Ethel & Dean is a children’s line for the edgy kid. I love how punk and out there these pieces are- and for kids! The color palette is wearable and light mixed with edgy decals. I love the fantasy-like details (wings, masks, hoods, etc.).

My Heirloom Bridal Design

I love looking at bridal dresses and I am obsessed that this collection was not all white! The designer incorporated blacks and beiges to adorn the white which I thought was so interesting and different.

TRBrown

THIS was probably my favorite from the evening. I want to purchase every look from this collection. This line was made for the working woman who still wants to look stylish and fashionable in the office. The designer portrayed this quite literally by having models hold coffee cup, hold briefcases, and wear pencils behind their ears. It was such a realistic fashion line and such perfect, necessary concept. My favorite piece was the metallic blue jumpsuit. To this day, I can not get my mind off of it.

Sara Kahrs

Sara Kahrs’ collection just screams fall. The colors and shapes make me honestly just want to skip summer (my least favorite season anyways) and go straight to fall. All the colors were pretty dark and then every now and then there was a pop of bright yellow to stir things up and keep it interesting. By looking closely, the garments were put together so well. I can see this being put up in a storefront window display immediately.

Her by Georgina Herrera

What an extravagant way to end fashion week. Everything (like seriously everything) about this collection was insane! The Versace-like choreography, sleek hair and bold make-up, and of course- the jewelry! Georgina is such a talented and creative designer and each piece she creates is so exclusive to anything I have ever seen. Her finale piece was a dress made from all metals and I was so blown away by it.

Ball-Pit Color-Block

I saw this super tacky, rainbow, color block dress on Nasty Gal and fell in love with how weirdly loud it was so obviously, it was an instant purchase. I knew that this was made for some kind of “out there” shoot and had just the idea.

Channeling my inner McDonald’s play-place loving self, I did a photoshoot in a ball pit. I was inspired by the ugly location challenge and haven’t seen anything like this. I worked with the super talented Jordan Marc and he made my ball pit dreams a reality. Definitely give his work a look, it’s incredible! I am so glad I got to meet and work with such a down to earth creative person.

Hope you enjoy these childish, bright images below. I plan on creating more high quality, editorial-like content very soon.
