My weekend in Bentonville, Arkansas for Northwest Arkansas Fashion Week was so incredible. I got to experience the huge fashion presence in Northwest Arkansas at Record, an awesome venue, and had the chance to meet and network with some amazing individuals. Since I have only been to one fashion week, Kansas City, I thought it would be interesting to go to a different Midwestern, or I guess I should say Southern, fashion show and I am so glad that I did.
I had the idea to focus on street style at NWAFW instead of what was just going down the runway, which was also fabulous by the way. Street style, I feel like, is only focused on in major cities’ fashion weeks such as New York, Paris, Milan and London so I decided to focus on it in Arkansas. Show-goers everywhere are so creative and I think that should be captured and appreciated. I mean, the streets are where designers pull their inspiration anyways.
This is definitely something different from what I usually post, but I thought it would be a good way to get out of my comfort zone. I also met some of the most interesting people while doing this! Enjoy!

P.S. – special shout out to my dad, David Lightner, for meeting me down in Arkansas to attend the shows with me. He didn’t necessarily have to but he wanted to and this is why I love him so much! If you’re reading this I love you! (he’s also really good at taking blog photos)
